About the Artist
Springfield, Oregon based illustrator, Kelly Moninger (K.Flagg), has been drawing since childhood. She has always been interested in comic art and animation style art which has lead to much of her work using ink pens and line art. Her subject matter often includes animals and botanical art in some manner.
In 2021 she started a series of animal bones in decay with vines and flowers growing on them. This series plays on the idea of life and death in a constant cycle. When one door closes, another door opens.
Supplies and Mediums.
Kelly uses a variety of both traditional art mediums. Most of her work is done in watercolors and sometimes gouache with pen and ink over the top for detail. Sometimes even colored pencil and Fine art markers are used for details.
